Tim Tyson claims the book " Blood Done Sign My Name " is a True story. I have given enough information to prove with clear evidence on the previous pages that Tim has lied and fabricated the facts for his scheme. Tim's only mission was to recruit and engage the reader for profit. $ $ $ $ $
Tim wants to be acknowledged as a Historian, so Tim goes to the extreme of listing sources, knowing the public will not take the time or effort, and spend countless hours at the Dept of Archives in Raleigh, NC. and the archives at the Richard Thornton Library in Oxford to verify.Tim Tyson has intentionally lied about information in known documented sources.
Hopefully this site will encourage book publishers to verify all the facts and sources of any book they publish that is characterized as a "true story".

On Tim’s missing thesis paper he states, Dickie walked down the road to Freeman's and returned with beer. Page 121 of BDSMN, Tim states Dickie Marrow told the young men under the awning he was going to Teels to get something to eat and buy Fannie her Big Pepsi. Per the book and the thesis a drink machine existed at the Tidewater Seafood. Tim has clearly placed everyone under the awning at the Tidewater either in a car or just standing around.
The Chavis lady on Tim’s NPR interview clearly states if Dickie said anything it was to warn people not to patronize the Teel business.So for what logical reason was Dickie going to Teel's business which was not a convenience store or grocery store that Dickie knew was being boycotted?

Even Vernon Tyson contradicts the book!A missing page from the thesis contradicts the book and Vernon. The book and thesis are contradicting Vernon’s statement in the article below.Vernon did not report anyone shopping with the Teels. Vernon did not say they were at the Tidewater Seafood or under the shed at the Tidewater. So who is lying, and who is telling the truth?
It boils down to a book version where Tim states Dickie was going to Teels for a Big Pepsi. On Tim’s NPR interview Dickie knew that the Teels business was being boycotted. Then the missing thesis paper where Tim states, Dickie walked down the road to Freeman’s grocery and returned with beer. Then you have Vernon’s comment in the Newspaper dated May 14,1970.

Between the Tyson's, they have given three different versions to hide the fact that Henry came on our property with a knife. Three different versions from the Tyson's alone of what happened. I wonder which version they will use in the movie?
Another point concerning this article, Vernon was informed by a witness that we were taunted. At that point Vernon knew there were two sides to the story. Preacher Tyson should possess integrity and high morals and search for the truth. According to Vernon, he felt he was caught in the middle and was trying to get both sides to come together and to do what was right.
Vernon claims he had ties with the black community. He meet with approximately 21 members of the black community the next day. He was on the Human Relations Council. But by Vernon’s own words here in this interview Dec 18, 2006 with WUNC 91.5 FM, he rushed to judgment in 1970. Vernon acknowledged this 36 years later. Vernon assumed guilt immediately after talking with the black community not knowing the facts from both sides.
I find it horrifying that a Preacher would rush to judgment. To hear Vernon assume Guilt before hearing all the facts. Sound familiar? Tim rushed to judgment in the Duke Lacrosse Hoax. The apple never falls far from the tree.

" Blood Done Sign My Name " on page 294. Tim states the Oxford Ledger is missing. Another outright lie. And onpage 296Tim manufactures another story by saying that the reason the Oxford Ledger is missing is because of Attorney Watkins role in the case. That’s another lie. I went to the Thornton Library in Oxford and the Oxford Public Ledger isavailable for everyone to view.

I researched the entire Oxford Public Ledger newspapers and I came to a section were the newspaper stated a dishonorable discharge. Tim states on the back of his book a 23 year old Veteran.
The News and Observer states a Veteran. So I am not sure what is correct. But in any case why would Tim lie to the public about the Oxford Ledger missing?
Military status is viewed differently by everyone. People have different opinions concerning this. I will not express my opinion, I am just simply showing the conflicting information.
If anyone has substantial proof of the military status, I will change this and clear this up immediately. Otherwise it looks like Tim is playing everybody for a fool and using Veteran as a marketing technique.
Unbelievable that Tim would make such an accusation that the papers from the Oxford Public Ledger are missing. BDSMN page 294-295, Tim has fabricated several different reasons, blaming innocent people for the missing papers of the events of 1970.
"Blood Done Sign My Name" page 326. Tim states as noted in chapter 12, the Oxford Public Ledger is missing for this entire historical period, but I was able to retrieve several key issues from criminal records.
Tim stating that the Oxford Public Ledger is missing is a clear example of deception. It's appalling and discredits Tim Tyson and his sources in " Blood Done Sign My Name."

Tim Tyson had the opportunity to purchase this website, he failed to respond. Now Professor Tyson will be under the microscope for spewing his lies. My terms were simple: Tim must apologize to the Public for misleading them and taking their hard earned money based on his lies. And acknowledge to the public the 30 plus lies that I know are in " Blood Done Sign My Name."
I am all for education, but I don’t believe in falsifying information and hiding facts to play out any agenda. I hope this website will have an effect on anyone documenting a true event by lying if they are Historians, authors, screenwriters, or anyone else, before they attempt to publish anything other than the truth.It is clear the author has only focused on one thing. The accidental death of Henry. I have proven the main story of Tim’s book is riddled with major lies. My sources are from the actual newspapers from 1970. It’s disturbing to think Tim who should be literate would ignore the facts that are clearly in the newspaper. Why would anyone especially a Historian have so many discrepancies in just one book?
Jeb Stuart received a certified letter from me in June 2008 and did not reply. So he cannot deny being notified. I can only assume Jeb did not want to know the facts or hear the truth. And plans to embellish and distort the facts as Tim has done to intrigue the audience.
This movie is supposed to be about the struggles the preachershad in earlier years with race relations. How can anyone be sure? Who would want to believe liars? A preacher and his son who used their public status and collaborated together to intentionally falsify and mislead the public into believing that " Blood Done Sign My Name " is a true story.
It is hoped that anyone in the movie business supposedly making a film about a true story would do some stringent fact-checking. And to know a preacher and his son had lied should make someone furious. When known lies are involved who would want to jeopardize their reputation?
Is society ready to disregard the truth? Is it all about lying and how people can profit from it? We told the truth then and I am telling the truth now. The public will have the final say, but for now Jeb Stuart will have the honor of making his decision. Reputation vs. Money.
The only intelligent comment I have read concerning this movie came from Actor Nate Parker. Nate Parker stated “We really have to tell the story and tell it in a way that is correct, that is truthful and honest”
